Tour Suggestions

Pfaffenwinkel

Starting from Füssen, the tour follows the Romantic Road. The first place you must stop at is Steingaden. The facade of the monastery church of St John the Babtist (12th century) is a classic example of Romanesque architecture, and the church is also called the Guelph Minister after the founder of the monastery.

From there the trip continues to the Wies Church and then to Rottenbuch, where from a distance an Italian campinale seems to be in store. The free-standing tower and the church, which was turned into a charming rococo work of art in 1737, are remains of the Augustine monastery, which fell victim to Secularization in 1803. The village itself is also a genuine picture postcard gem. You are certain to find further photo subjects on the Hoher Peissenberg, from where you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of Pfaffenwinkel
